Volunteers
HDSC cannot exist without volunteers. Anyone with an interest in seeing the club thrive is warmly invited to get involved. Whatever your time-availability, skills or interests, there will be a role which will work for you and the club will cover all agreed training fees.
Roles include:
- Team Managers: swimmer support at competitions
- Technical Positions: such as Judges and Timekeepers
- Fundraising & Event Volunteers: ad-hoc help with social and fundraising events
- Committee roles: as per table below

Trustees and Volunteer Management Team
The trustees of the Charity together form the ‘Board of Trustees’. The role of the trustees is to provide strategic leadership, governance oversight, financial stewardship and assurance that the Club operates safely, legally, and in line with Swim England standards, including WavePower, the Code of Ethics, and SwimMark expectations. The trustees also oversee the partnership with North Yorkshire Council.
The trustees delegate operational matters to the Volunteer Management Team which includes a wider group of key volunteers supporting the club.
The trustees are: Eve Hawkins, Terry Wilkinson, Barry Saunders and Steph Bellamy.
