The Performance Pathway Squads are for identified, talented swimmers to have the opportunity to achieve the very highest levels nationally and internationally.
Swimmers will train in accordance with Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) guidelines and follow the British Swimming competition pathway. This route is extremely demanding and requires very high levels of commitment by both the swimmer and their family.
To progress to the Performance Pathway, the following criteria must be achieved:

|Ownership and Responsibility||Swimmer complies with Training Agreement|
|Excellence||Swimmer has long-term goals in line with Performance Pathway goals|
Trials for the Performance Pathway Squads will be held twice per season and will consist of one month's training in the relevant Performance Pathway Squad to assess suitability for a permanent move.
